Revisionist History The Slaves in America Had The Good Life.

The other day I noticed some people on face book were using Senator John Kyle's facts about Planned Parenthood. He had stated that 97% of what they did were abortions. When he was called out on the fact that actually 97% of what they did was health screening, birth control counseling and education, he and his staff had to walk back his statements, by saying he did not mean for this to be factual. This group on face book then used the first statement as fact and either chose to ignore the second part or just did not care enough to hear the back tracking by Kyle's office. I pointed this out to them and since then we have been involved in this back and forth as they try to rewrite and relive the Civil War, slavery and the role of the Klan. I will not sit back and listen to other people use here say and complete untruths, just so they can attempt to persuade others to think like they do. I stated in my face book response, just because you keep repeating the same lie over and over again, it does not make it true. We started with PP and because I stated that their were good people in both political parties, I said look at what Lincoln and the Republicans did for the slaves. They have stated that yes slavery was horrible, but that the slave owners treated the slaves, for the most part very well. As fewer new slaves were brought in the U.S., because it was made illegal to import them in 1808, the plantation owners did take better care of their property, as a business decision. Well is this not great for the slaves. They are someones property and just like today we change the oil in our cars to keep them running better and longer, these wonderful plantation owners stopped beating and mistreating slaves so the could live longer and work harder. They also think that slavery had no part in the Civil War. I have stated that yes states rights and the preservation of the union was the reason used, but remember the Southern states were concerned that Lincoln, even though he had stated that slavery would not be completely abolished, they seceded to maintain their states rights to slavery. So we have the facts from them that slavery, though horrible, was not as bad as depicted by us Northerners and the slaves were happy and content. We have the point that slavery was a none issue in the Civil War. They have also stated that slavery ended before the Civil War. I want to see that one proven in a book. Lastly in the parts that are completely out there, the KKK was initially a gentleman's group that was helping women and children. The Klan was started for no other reason then to keep blacks in their place and they used terrorism and intimidation to accomplish this, This just scratches the surface of the inaccuracies they are stating. I have invited them to come on the blog and we can talk further about their views of American history and what is factual. Hopefully they will. I invite any of you to join in with your knowledge and opinion on this. Meanwhile I will, be discussing more of my posts with them over the next couple of days.

Liberal and Proud of it!

In the last several years, the word Liberal, in politics, has become a dirty word. Repeat after me, "I am a Liberal and proud of it."I have wondered what it was that set off Republicans and Conservatives, when they hear that word. I went to the source, Merriam-Webster dictionary and looked up the words, liberal and conservative. Liberal, means constituting a political party that is associated with the ideal of economic freedom, greater individual participation in government and reforms designed to accomplish this. Conservatives on the other hand advocate and support established institutions and tending to maintain existing views by moderation or caution. Now I get it. Liberals  want change and freedom. Conservatives want to keep the status quo. Liberals  want you to be free from corporations and individuals who want to take away your rights to live in a normal financial situation. Conservatives want everything to stay as it was. If we listen to the Conservatives, white men would still be the only group of people that could own property and gain wealth. Am I portraying Conservatives fairly, no, but they do want to lump Liberals into a group that just want to give everything away. Pat, my wife, and I have always worked hard for our money and do not feel the need to have hand-outs for everyone, including corporations and the wealthy. We also believe that there is a moral obligation, to assist the people among us that are unable to support themselves. Booker T. Washington once said, "There are two ways of exerting one's strength: one is pushing down, the other is pulling up. I want to be the one that is pulling up, and if being Liberal means that , then mark me as, "Liberal and proud of it."

Kennedy's on Reelz The Conclusion.

I thoroughly enjoyed, "The Kennedys" mini series on Reelz. The combination of historical fact and fill in information, brought back memories, both good and bad. The portrayal of the family may seem harsh at times, but rather it is all true or not, does not diminish, my admiration and respect for them. I will always view, President Kennedy, as someone, who not only led us through dangerous times, but showed us a vision of how great we could be. In this new age and time, over the last ten to twelve years, been lifted in our dreams and accomplish so much more with his leadership. Bobby Kennedy may have been even more passionate about the service and uplifting of the middle class and the poor then his brother. We all know how hard Teddy worked  and was driven by the lack of excellent medical care for average and poor Americans. Jackie Kennedy will always be synonymous with grace and elegance. She was so strong for the entire country during those dark days in November 1963. To me the Kennedys will always represent the best and yet most conflicted, tragic family in American history.

Lambert for President, How do I stack up with the Donald?

While Donald Trump runs around acting like a horses**s, I have been seriously considering my run for the presidency. How would Trump and I stack up against each other? Let's take a look. Donald recently had an interview in which he stated he would spend up to 600 million dollars to win the job as President. At first look this would seem to favor Trump, but I say not so fast. I am putting 6 dollars of my own money in this. Whoever wins, how much does the presidency pay per year. Two hundred thousand. The return on my investment is much better then  Donald Trump's. He looses money while I make money. So, as you can now see the advantage is mine. "The Donald", Talks about what a smart guy he is. I question that. I understand he went to the Wharton Business School, very prestigious. I have two questions for him, if you are so smart why would you spend that much money an a job that pays considerably less, and why can't you keep a wife? He pays 350 thousand dollars a year in alimony and 300 thousand dollars a year in child support. Was he absent at Wharton when they talked about making money. Oh. I know Trump is worth a lot more then I am, but how did he get there. First, his father was a millionaire and was the original Trump in real estate development. Secondly, in the 1990's his Donaldness, had amassed, 5 billion dollars in business debt and 900 million in personal debt. You'll never imagine how he got out of debt. Chase Bank and Citibank headed a creditor-led bailout. Yes, the same kind of bailout that we just handed to Wall Street, last year. Where do you think his loyalties would lie as president? By comparison, my father worked for the railroad his whole life and was not a millionaire. We did not get a bank bailout on our home. We have always paid our bills. Also as a side note, Chase forced him to sell New York property as part of the bail out, and to make matters worse it was to an Asian developing company. Remember he has been taking shots at China and I believe it is located in Asia. In other words, to save his own butt, he would do business with anyone. The last contrast between Trump and myself. In an interview, he stated the best thing about him was how wealthy he is. The White house is pretty big, I know my ego would fit in the doors, however Trump's would never make it. Let's see another pompous, blowhard in Washington D.C. Nah, I'll pass. What may have looked like a miss match in the beginning, actually, is. Except it is in my favor. Trump, "Your fired."
